On social media, trying to get users to look at your content for more than 2-3 seconds is half the battle. A great solution to this is creating content that is ‘gamified’: basically, anything that involves even a little bit of user interaction and engagement. Most of these ‘games’ may seem very simple to the point of childish, but what we’ve discovered is that because so much content doesn’t involve user-thinking that even a small amount of engagement can stand out on social.
Creating subtle ‘spot the difference’ type games has garnered great success on social media.
Hellcat Like Reflexes was a gamified story series, where we set a few different ‘levels’ to test our fans reaction times. You try to pause/tap the video at the correct spot and then we asked fans how fast the launched.
Catch the Hellcat was a fun game idea I executed where we had a Charger Hellcat flying down the street. The user tries to pause the video while the car is in the target ‘circle’.
Have an Eye for Power is a game idea I executed where we show fans a scrolling pack-shot of our vehicles and then ask them if they can identify the total amount of horsepower in the image. If you can answer correctly, we offered up a chance to win tickets to Roadkill Nights.
Bold Even as a Blur was interactive story idea I had where we add excessive amount of motion blur, and see if our biggest fans could still identify the vehicles.
